The Inaugural American Energy and Manufacturing Competitiveness Summit
On December 12, 2013, as part of the American Energy and Manufacturing Competitiveness (AEMC) Partnership, the Council on Competitiveness (Council) and the Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) co-hosted the Inaugural AEMC Summit, a first-of-its-kind annual gathering of preeminent leaders from industry, government, academia, labor, and the national laboratories dedicated to building momentum around American innovation, progress and competitiveness in energy and manufacturing.
The Council team is excited by the energy that our participants, exhibits, and speakers brought to the day, and by the overwhelmingly positive responses we have received from so many stakeholders. The event drew more than 500 participants, with significant participation from industry, the national laboratories, academia, government, and NGOs. The AEMC Summit was recorded and broadcast via webcast by our media partner, Breaking Energy. Please find the videos from each session under the media tab above.
The Council and our outstanding partner in this initiative, the Department of Energy Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy, will leverage the momentum generated by this event to build a critical mass of stakeholders committed to concrete actions to bolster American competitiveness in energy and manufacturing.
Stay tuned for more information and news from the Council on upcoming programs, events, and opportunities including the second annual AEMC Summit in Washington, D.C. in July 2014. More details will be forthcoming in the new year.
